KIMA: Noise, by Analema Group, was a 5-day multisensory exhibit at Tate Modern that invited the audience to experience the ‘ocean of urban sounds’ in a completely new way and recreate their associations with these sounds. Microphone stations were set up around the museum and captured sounds from the city’s urban environment, with an interactive device set up inside the museum that allowed the audience to play with these real-time city noises. within an immersive ambisonic surround sound installation. There was also an invisible sound sculpture for the audience to discover and many talks from leading researchers about the effects of noise and sound.
